Stakeholder updates.

Our stakeholder engagement manager has been out and about attending a number of meetings with our customers.

In July, our stakeholder manager attended the Welsh Government Sponsored Bodies Heads of Procurement forum.

Whilst the initial meeting was small it discussed some very meaningful topics including:

  • Sharing each other’s Procurement strategies in light of the Wellbeing and Future Generation Act.
  • Sharing pipelines with each other and naming each other as interested parties on upcoming procurements, whilst jointly supporting the NPS frameworks.
  • Understanding together the implications of Brexit on the Procurement function
  • Opportunities to share the scarce resources .The group now have a Forum on eTenderwales to disseminate and share documents

Our stakeholder engagement manager also attended a Ceredigion Procurement Forum meeting al at the Mid & West Fire Station in their newly opened Café.

Aberystwyth University’s Mike Smith and Lee Pereira, shared the fact that they saved £150,000 on their recent ICT competition held using the eAuction functionality on eTenderwales. Thanks to Aberystwyth University for continuing to fly the flag for eAuctions.

Dyfed Powys Police discussed how they aim to measure their social impact on Wales having recently taken advantage of a free assessment from ECS International it was interesting that this same topic came up at the Welsh Government Sponsored bodies Heads of Procurement meeting where Victoria Rose-Piper introduced the company bcorp, who have the ability to assess the suppliers social impact.

Ceredigion Council shared the Wellbeing and Future Generations goals and opportunities with regard to their upcoming collaborative Procurement on a Catering Disposables Framework. They also shared their revised Procurement Strategy which had very clear priorities with the desired outcomes all clearly aligned to the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.

Ceredigion generously shared their WBFG action plan in order to help others when developing their own action plans.
