Procurex Wales Live!

Procurex Wales Live!

The 2nd ever Procurex Wales Live event was held on 6 October 2016 at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.

Over 1000 delegates attended the largest gathering of procurement professionals, and delegates from the public and private sectors, ever seen in Wales.

The event offered a unique opportunity for both the public and private sector to:

  • showcase the wealth of innovation taking place across procurement in Wales
  • network and collaborate with over 68 businesses exhibiting their services at their stands
  • enhance their skills and knowledge of procurement related matters through a variety of training, support and guidance zones
  • gather information about EU compliant frameworks
  • become better informed about policies affecting the Welsh procurement landscape.

Professor Mark Drakeford AM, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government delivered the Keynote address with a focus on the Modern Slavery Act, the Well-being of Future Generations Act, and the development of the Welsh Government Code of Practice for Ethical Employment in Supply Chains. These key themes continued throughout the day in a series of engagement and speaker zones.

A full complement of staff from across the National Procurement Service, Corporate Procurement Services, Value Wales, Transport Procurement, Sell2Wales and Business Wales were on hand to provide advice and support at the Welsh Government pavilion throughout the day.

The ePS team also had a very busy day at the eProcurement Zone drop-in clinic, offering delegates the opportunity to interact with and learn more about the electronic services and technology on offer.
