Food and drink news round-up

Framework updates.

Food safety meeting

Following a meeting in April, we hosted another meeting of food safety specialists from across the Welsh public sector on 4 July to further strengthen our approach to food safety.

Catering disposables

A pre-tender meet-the-buyer event took place on 16 July in Ceredigion County Council, for a new framework on catering disposables being led by the council.

If you want to be further involved in the pilot work supporting the well-being of future generations please contact George.Ryley@ceredigion.gov.uk.

Supply and distribution of alcoholic beverages

The deadline for tender submissions to replace the Welsh Purchasing Consortia agreement passed on 3 July 2018. For any questions please contact us on NPSFood@gov.wales

Supporting mini competitions

If you need help, support or guidance with mini competitions under the fresh and packaged food frameworks please contact us on NPSFood@gov.wales with an outline of your requirement.

Basware cataloguing

Getting new suppliers set up using the Basware system has not been without its challenges. We are therefore very grateful to the many local authorities that helped local suppliers on the framework overcome these challenges. We have also been targeting suppliers to provide help and support and, over the coming months, we will be actively working with our suppliers to support them further on their development journey.

Delivering on the Well-being of Future Generations

We are meeting with our suppliers on 23 July 2018 to consult them on a range of measures to allow us to identify trends and take action to secure the well-being of future generations. We have been working alongside WRAP and the Future Generations Commissioner’s office to develop the measures.
