Fleet and transport news round-up

Framework updates.

Liquid fuel

The final extension of the framework has been taken up. We will be setting up a Category Forum Group (CFG) to discuss future provision for this agreement and are seeking representatives from all sectors.

Please contact us at NPSFleet@gov.wales if you would like to be part of the CFG or would like to share your experiences of the current framework.

Vehicle hire II

Vehicle Hire II has many benefits for our customers and we are currently working with individual customers to provide further competition support. Advantages include time savings and the assurance and confidence that the process has been undertaken fairly and transparently.

Further competition generates cost savings as suppliers are able to price more accurately against customer requirements.

Any customers wishing to undertake further competition please contact us on NPSFleet@gov.waless to arrange support. Templates have been developed to support any mini competitions.

Driver licence checks

The options appraisal for this agreement has been agreed by Category Forum Group members, and is currently in the process of being approved by NPS senior management.

Tyres

We have completed a price review in line with the framework terms and new prices are now available on Sell2Wales (login required).

Current factors affecting the tyres market include Chinese Import duty, which is likely to affect budget choice tyres only.

The EU has indicated that there will be new anti-dumping duties on truck tyres imported to the EU from China. Suppliers, wholesalers and distributors have started to pass the charges into the market.

The current arrangement is due to expire on 15 November 2018. The framework provides for an extension by one additional year.

Fuel cards

We will be seeking customer representatives on a Category Forum Group (CFG) to discuss arrangements when the current call-off agreement with the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) framework expires on 13 May 2019.

Please contact us on NPSFleet@gov.wales if you would like to be part of this CFG or would like to send us your ideas and feedback.
