NPS shortlisted for CIPS Supply Management Awards

The National Procurement Service has been announced as a finalist in the 2015 Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Supply Management Awards.

The CIPS Supply Management Awards celebrate excellence and exceptional examples of best practice, providing a comprehensive look at the most innovative companies and individuals in the profession.

NPS has been shortlisted for the ‘Most Improved Procurement Operation – Start Up’ category, which looks at how a new procurement and supply chain function, has benefitted an organisation as a whole through effective management and innovation.

Since its start up in November 2013, NPS can report cashable savings of £7.9m (up to March 2015), whilst ensuring all contracts and frameworks embed the key principles of the Wales Procurement Policy. Community benefits are required on all contracts over £5m, including suppliers offering training and internships, funding community programmes, and sub-contracting to supported businesses.

The winners will be announced on 9 September 2015.
